Acabemos con algunos mitos pegajosos … Muchas de las afirmaciones simplemente no están respaldadas por la ciencia.

Mito: la miel es «mejor» que el azúcar normal para la salud

La ciencia: puede provenir de la naturaleza, pero el azúcar de la miel es muy similar al azúcar blanco (¡recuerde, el azúcar de mesa también proviene de las plantas de caña y remolacha!), Y todavía se considera un «azúcar agregada». Su cuerpo no puede saber de dónde provienen los azúcares y los descompone de la misma manera.

Mito: la miel puede mejorar la salud intestinal

La ciencia: ¡no hará mucho por la salud intestinal! La miel contiene más fibra dietética, PERO tendrías que comer 100 g de miel para obtener solo 0,2 g de fibra (eso es solo el 0,007% de nuestras necesidades diarias).

Lo mismo ocurre con los demás micronutrientes y productos químicos vegetales que no dañan el intestino. Sobre el papel, contiene más que azúcar de mesa, pero en términos reales (es decir, el tamaño medio de las porciones) es insignificante … así que no se deje engañar por las afirmaciones de marketing que se basan en porciones por 100 g.

La conclusión: si le gusta el sabor, un chorrito de miel aquí y allá está absolutamente bien (¡su dentista se lo dirá preferiblemente a la hora de las comidas!). Se trata de equilibrio y moderación.

Simplemente no lo vierta en sus papillas o panqueques pensando que tiene superpoderes medicinales. Su intestino y su salud en general se beneficiarán más del uso de frutas enteras llenas de fibra para agregar dulzura. De esa manera, ¡también obtendrá hasta un 1,000% más de nutrientes beneficiosos!
